ACRL MD - Academic and Research Libraries
Provides opportunities for professional development and communication between academic and research librarians
CSD - Children's Services
Promotes library services, storytelling, reading, book appreciation, librarianship with children and opportunities for professional development.
LDD - Leadership Development
Identifies and fosters administrative and management skills in librarians.
PSD - Public Services
Provides opportunities for professional development, communication and discussion of library related issues to public services staff in all types of libraries.
SSD - Support Staff
Increases the awareness and understanding of the role of library support staff and paraprofessionals, promotes professional growth and provides a network of communication.

Committees and Panels
Editorial - the CRAB and eCRAB
IFAP - Intellectual Freedom Advisory Panel
Provides a forum for librarians who are interested in issues concerning intellectual freedom, access to information and censorship. IFAP also advises the MLA Executive Board and MLA membership on such issues.
Legislative Panel
Monitors state and federal legislation that has an impact on libraries, including issues such as access to information, telecommunications and literacy
Marketing and Membership
Promotes awareness of the Maryland Library Association within the state of Maryland and promotes membership in MLA by employees of all Maryland Libraries.
Maryland Author Award
The Maryland Author Award Committee annually selects the winner of the Maryland Author Award, established to recognize a Maryland author for his or her body of work. Awards are given for adult fiction, books for young people, poetry, and creative non-fiction, on a rotating basis.
PDP - Professional Development Panel
Serves as the reviewing body for MLA educational programs, conducts training programs, and monitors resources for professional and staff development.

GIIG - Government Information
The interest Group explores current and developing trends in the delivery of government information from all levels- international, federal, state and local.
LGBTQ+ Interest Group
The LGBTQ+ Interest Group brings together the efforts of libraries throughout the state of Maryland to protect and uplift the LGBTQ+ community, championing an affirmative space for both customers and library workers.
MAPIG - Maryland Adult Programming
The Maryland Adult Programming Interest Group is open to all MLA members interested in high-quality, innovative, and successful adult programming.
NMIG - New Members Interest Group
The group supports the professional interests, development, and success of new MLA members including librarians, library support staff, and prospective or current library school students.
RAIG - Reader's Advisory Interest Group
Sponsored by the Public Services Division, a resource to help members share/expand their knowledge of genre fiction, gain confidence in making book suggestions/recommendations, and learn more about what makes a book a "good read".
SMUG - Social Media Users Group
Provides a forum to explore uses of social media and their applicability to library services and to provide a venue for sharing experiences, ideas, and best practices pertaining to social media.
TIG - Teen
Provides a forum for discussion, programs, and activities for library staff who work with teens/young adults.
