How confident are you when faced with behaviors that disrupt the operations of your library? Now, more than ever, library staff need effective tools for handling a variety of public disruptive behaviors. This presentation and hands-on workshop, led by Cindy Pol, Human Resources Manager (BCPL), Yvette May, Branch Manager (BCPL - Essex Branch), and Mindy McDonnell, Children's Librarian (FCPL - C.Burr Artz Library), will teach you how to create a structure for handling public disruptive behavior incidents, and to communicate effectively about how to deal with difficult customer interactions. By developing and implementing common guidelines, staff will be in a better position to handle these types of situations, leading to improved consistency system-wide, and enhanced safety and security for library staff and customers.
Registration begins at 12:30 PM. Please feel free to bring a lunch and enjoy networking prior to the program, which will begin at 1:00 PM.
This program is worth 3 contact hours.
