Surveillance Concerns - Letter to Congress
MLA Endorsement:
ALA opposes new administration policies that contradict core values
On March 15, 2017, Monica McAbee made a motion on behalf of the Intellectual Freedom Advisory Panel asking that the Executive Board endorse ALA’s statement of January 30, 2017, which opposed policies being put in place by the new administration [of the country] that contradict library core values (see link above). The motion passed unanimously. The Intellectual Freedom Panel affirms the importance of America’s libraries to our democracy, and the importance of democratic values to the continuing existence of libraries.
