When Disaster Strikes
Thursday, January 17, 2019, BCPL - Arbutus Branch, 12:30 - 4:30 PM
Registration is now open at

Do you stockpile storytime puppets in a little room with gray wall boxes marked High Voltage? Do your restrooms flood whenever two toilets flush at the same time? Do your patrons think a "hurricane watch" is a fun new program taking place next to the biggest window in the building? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this training will help demystify the inner workings of your building and prepare you for emergencies both large and small. Presenters Michael Gannon, Chief Operating Officer for Support Services at the Prince George's County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS), and Jessica Nusbaum from the Maryland Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) will offer practical advice on how to fix or avoid common facility problems, and add information about emergency preparedness to your knowledge toolbox. Registration will open at 12:30 PM. Bring a lunch and enjoy networking before the program, which begins promptly at 1:00 PM.
