This training will provide you with the resources you need to effectively plan standalone programs through your unit for the Maryland Library Associations. Topics discussed will include the program planning process and timeline, how to develop and market a successful program, pricing structures, new guidelines for virtual and hybrid programs, important contacts, and more! We will also share and discuss general guidelines for planning successful conference programs. 
After this training, we will begin a discussion of the 2022 MLA Conference.
 
 

Executive University: Service Design Primer for Administrators

This project is supported in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act Administered by the Maryland State Library. This is a preview of a Service Design Intensive for Public Library Staff and Administrators that can be offered for library teams during September and October. MSL would like to get your feedback after you attend this special program for library executives. This program will equip library executives with concepts and tools to lead your organizations through adapting your services and service model to the new normal. While it is ideal participants attend the full program, each session will provide stand-alone value.
July 21st, 1:00pm-3:30pm: This session will focus on how to use service design techniques to better understand stakeholder needs (customer, staff, and broader community) and how to identify and select opportunities for change
July 23rd 9:30am-12:00pm: This session will cover service ideation, design, and experimentation in alignment with stakeholder needs and organizational outcomes.
