Trauma-Informed Librarianship During a Pandemic-Supporting Survivors, Supporting Ourselves

Trauma-informed librarianship is a crucial framework and helpful practice to better support our patrons, staff, colleagues, and ourselves. During this webinar, participants will learn about the principles of trauma-informed librarianship and how to encorporate them into their daily work, such as creating positive and healing interactions with survivors in the library. Finally, we'll learn about building sustainable self-care strategies, as well as the power of community care, to mitigate the effects of trauma, including secondhand trauma.
This program will include discussion of topics including rape culture, LGBTQ+ issues, ableism, and addiction.
