  • The Trustees Division aims to represent general areas of concern and interest of library trustees affiliated with institutions throughout the state of Maryland.
  • Through our meetings, discussions, and programs TD provides opportunities for professional development and information exchange.

  • Audie Award Winner Johnny Heller to Speak at the Annual Meeting of Citizens for Maryland Libraries on November 7, 2009. This Annual meeting is held in conjunction with the Trustee Division of the Maryland Library Association. The event will be at the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys 5100 Falls Road Baltimore, Maryland 21210 9:30 AM- 2:00 PM.

  • Special Thanks
    A special thanks to those who attended the annual Citizens of Maryland Libraries/Trustees meeting for making this event a wonderful success. The many supporters, including the Maryland Library Association and others contributed to one of the most interesting and successful meetings. This annual event sponsored by the Library and Development Services (DLDS) was hosted at the fantastic Reginald F. Lewis Museum.

Meet Dr. Joni Jones, A New Board Member of Anne Arundel County Public Library

Joni Jones is the executive director of the Maryland Commission on African American History & Culture and the Banneker-Douglass MuseumExternal Web Site. The Commission is mandated by the State of Maryland to preserve, promote, document, and protect the history and culture of African Americans statewide.

Jones is an Anne Arundel County native who earned an MA and a PhD in English from UCLA. After a career-changing experience as an NEH postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University's Du Bois Institute, she returned to Maryland and earned an MLS with a specialty in archival administration from the University of Maryland, College Park while lending her talents to the Wiley H. Bates High School Redevelopment Project. Dr. Jones joined the BDM staff in 2007 as that Librarian- Archivist of the Sylvia Gaither Garrison Library and became executive director of the Commission and the Museum in May of 2009.

Currently she is editing the documentary, "Stewards of a Sacred Space: The Banneker-Douglass Museum at 25."
