AACPL - West County Branch![]()
MLA Members: $80. Non-members: $120. Students: $68.
The financial crisis has presented public libraries with both new opportunities and new challenges. Join PSD for a full day of discussion on responding to needs of patrons during this difficult time. Rebecca Sullivan of Pratt;s Job and Career Center will talk about the services that they offer and how public libraries across the state can serve job seekers. Heidi Gillis and Carl Birkmeyer of BCPL's Marketing Department will discuss innovative and inexpensive ways to reach out to new users...and to keep them long after the economy recovers. A panel of librarians will share their successful ideas for teen programs which generate excitement, but cost little to implement. Finally, bring your own ideas to share in a small group discussion about how libraries across Maryland are responding to these new challenges. Bagged lunch and drinks will be provided. Please choose between Turkey Club, Tuna Salad, or Vegetarian sandwiches when you register for this program.
This program is worth 5 contact hours of continuing education.
Refunds cannot be issued after September 16, 2009.
