Leaders, recharge! is a day-long workshop featuring an array of speakers. Rayna Schroeder (Joy of Life Coaching) will lead a morning session on emotional intelligence entitled So that's why they're like that. Participants will then have an opportunity to select two afternoon breakout sessions that are most meaningful to their particular needs. This year's breakout topics are:

  • Moving the message: tips for talking to the media
    (Elizabeth Cromwell, Manager, Corporate and Community Partnerships, Frederick County Public Libraries)

  • Creative problem solving with Thinkertoys
    (Patty Sundberg, Mt. Airy Branch Manager, Carroll County Public Library)

  • Choosing a path: approaches to strategic planning
    (Dolores Maminski, Associate Director, Frederick County Public Libraries and James Kelly, Assistant Director for Public Services, Carroll County Public Library)

With a focus on real-life best practices, Leaders, recharge! helps the formal, informal or aspiring leader refresh their skills and find balance.

Recommended for all -- frontline staff, mid-level managers, Administrators. Lunch will be provided.

This program has been approved for 4.75 contact hours of continuing education.

In this informative and interactive session, you'll get Digital Rights Management (DRM) in a nutshell, learn the ins and outs of Overdrive and even have hands-on time with some of the most popular e-Reading devices. Join Carroll County Public Library branch managers Christina Kuntz, Patty Sundberg, and Bryan Hissong for a lively talk about the hottest trend in publishing.

This program is worth 2.5 contact hours of continuing education
