MLA-Sponsored WWI Exhibit Makes Final Stop in Talbot

On Thursday, November 9, in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Robert T. Horvath gave a talk on his WWI Aviation Art.  Five of Horvath's original artworks were on display, along with several WWI aviation posters, as an exhibit sponsored by the Maryland Library Association in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of “The War to End All Wars.” 

On Thursday, November 9, in the Easton branch of the Talbot County Free Library, Robert T. Horvath gave a talk on his WWI Aviation Art.  Five of Horvath's original artworks were on display, along with several WWI aviation posters, as an exhibit sponsored by the Maryland Library Association in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of “The War to End All Wars.”  Horvath's paintings have been exhibited in the Smithsonian's Air and Space Museum and the United States Air Force Museum; they have also been featured in calendars issued by the Air Force Association and in books about the history of American aviation.  His art work for the USAF can be found on their website www.afapo.hq.af.mil/main/index,cfm .  His work is also part of the collection of the Yorkshire Air Museum, York, England.

 

For 17 years, from 1998 to 2015, Horvath served as director of the Talbot County Free Library system.  He has served as President of the Board of the Eastern Shore Library Association and the Maryland Association of Public Library Administrators.  Horvath currently serves as the chairman the board of the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Mass.  After retiring from the Talbot County Free Library in 2015, he and his wife, the artist Lynne Horvath, moved to Lenox, Massachusetts.
